Welcome to the registration page for the 22nd International Symposium of the World Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians.

We are delighted to invite you to join colleagues from around the world for this prestigious global gathering of veterinary laboratory diagnosticians, researchers, industry partners, and policymakers. The symposium will provide a dynamic platform to share the latest scientific advances, diagnostic technologies, and collaborative approaches addressing animal health, zoonotic diseases, food safety, and the One Health interface.

The 2027 symposium promises an engaging scientific programme featuring keynote lectures from internationally renowned experts, cutting-edge research presentations, interactive workshops, and valuable networking opportunities. Delegates will have the opportunity to exchange knowledge, build partnerships, and explore innovative solutions to current and emerging challenges in veterinary diagnostics.

To be entitled to the super-early and early registration fees, you must have registered and paid by the respective closing dates. Payments not received by the closing dates will automatically be transferred to the next registration category.

Registration confirmation

Your completed registration and successful payment will be acknowledged via email with confirmation of your requirements according to your registration form. Your registration will only be processed or confirmed once payment has been made. Please contact us if you do not receive your confirmation as this may effect future communications from us.

All registrations must be paid by the close date to secure the discounted rates.

Name badge
Each delegate will receive a name badge when they check in at the registration desk. The badge will be your official pass to obtain entry to all sessions and social functions. You are responsible for having your badge clearly visible at all times and must be clearly visible at all times to obtain entry to all sessions and to social functions.

Cancellations must be notified in writing to the Symposium Secretariat at corne@savetcon.co.za.

Note: there will be a ZAR 250.00 administration fee charged for refunds on duplicate registration payments.

Registration
Cancellations before 01 April 2027 will incur an ZAR 250.00 cancellation fee.
Cancellations from 02 April 2027 to 19 June 2027 will incur a 50% cancellation fee.
Cancellations on or after 20 June 2027 will receive no refund.

Accommodation
Individual participants make their own reservation via an online booking link. As soon as the booking has been done by the individual, the guest guarantees for this reservation with a credit card and this reservation cannot be cancelled free of charge anymore. In case of a no-show, the full amount of the stay will be charged to the individual’s credit card.

The program is correct at the time of publishing.  The organisers reserve the right to delete, modify or alter items from the program or to delete, modify or alter any aspect of the Symposium timetabling and delivery at their sole discretion and without notice.  Neither the host organisation(s) nor the Symposium Secretariat will accept any liability for any loss or inconvenience caused to any party consequent to such changes.

Introduction: 
The organisers and hosts of the Event (the “Event”) are committed to providing an Event that is welcoming and safe for allattendees; free from discrimination and harassment; where all attendees are treated with dignity and respect.   

Adherence to this Code of Conduct is mandatory for all attendees and extends to all aspects of the Event, including (but not limited to) program sessions, catering breaks,
social events and all communications including email and social media. 

Attendees of the Event will in respect of all attendees or others associated with the delivery of the Event: 

  • treat all with respect, dignity, impartiality and courtesy;
  • not discriminate in respect of gender, sexual orientation, disability, race, ethnicity, religion, age, national origin, gender identity or expression, or physical appearance;
  • maintain a cooperative and collaborative approach to interpersonal relationships;
  • respect the privacy of all;
  • ensure that they are not involved in or encourage discrimination against or harassment of any other persons;
  • ensure that their actions are not inhibiting, offensive, disruptive or negative towards other attendees or the organisers or hosts of the Event; and
  • ensure that they do not support, condone or encourage in any way any protest or potential protest against the Event or its subject matter. 

Purpose: 
The purpose of this Code of Conduct is to ensure that the Event is available for enjoyment and participation by all Event attendees. 

Consequences of Breach of this Code of Conduct: 
The Event Organisers and the Hosts, at their sole discretion, reserve the right to remove from the Event premises or to refuse entry to the Event to any person(s) who breaches this Code of Conduct.  Such action will automatically preclude the alleged offending person from any claim for financial compensation including loss of right to any refund for attendance fees for the Event.  Additionally, any offender will immediately forfeit any entitlement to deliver poster or speaking presentations. 

Anonymity: 
The Event Organisers and/or Hosts will use all reasonable precautions and endeavours to protect the anonymity of persons reporting violations, or potential violations, of this 
Code of Conduct. 

The Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), Act 4 of 2013, is South Africa’s comprehensive data protection law, in full effect since July 1, 2021. It regulates how public and private bodies process personal information, requiring compliance with eight conditions to protect individuals from data misuse, with severe penalties for non-compliance.

The Symposium Secretariat comply with these legislations and are committed to protect the right of the individual to privacy of their information.

The Symposium Secretariat will not sell your personal information to third parties.  If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please email us and we will promptly correct the information.  You may also withdraw your consent for use of your information by advice to us in writing.

Why do we wish you to provide your information?

We require your information to facilitate provision of information to you regarding the Symposium and to facilitate your participation in the Symposium.  Information collected in respect of your proposed participation in any aspect of the Symposium will be used for the purposes listed below.  You can give or withhold your consent for each or all of these uses.  Please indicate your preferences when completing your registration form but please note that we will be unable to forward any information relating to the Symposium or to communicate with you regarding your registration if you select ‘no’ to point 1.

What we will do with your information?

  1. Planning and conduct of the Symposium including arrangements for your participation;
  2. In the Delegate List published for the Symposium;
  3. May also be provided to organisers of future occurrences of this Symposium;
  4. May be used to provide you with information of other relevant events in your area of interest.

Important Notes:

  • The parties who will have access to your information (subject to your preference selections on above points) are the Symposium Secretariat, the Symposium host organisation (points 1 and point 4), delegates, sponsors and exhibitors of the Symposium (point 2) and any future organisers of the Symposium (point 3).

The parties mentioned above will rely on your above consent indications for the purposes of compliance.

  • You may withdraw your granular consent at any time by notice in writing to the Symposium Secretariat.
  • You are entitled to access the information held by written application to the Symposium Secretariat.

Registration fees do not include insurance.  It is strongly recommended that at the time you register for the ISWAVLD 2027and book your travel you take out an insurance policy of your choice.  The policy should include:

  • Loss of fees/deposit through cancellation of your participation in the Symposium or through cancellation of the Symposium,
  • Loss of international/domestic air fares through cancellation for any reason,
  • Loss of tour monies through cancellation for any reason including airline or related services strikes within South Africa,
  • Failure to utilise tours or pre-booked arrangements due to airline delay,
  • Force Majeure or any other reason,
  • Medical expenses (including sickness and accident cover),
  • Loss or damage to personal property,
  • Additional expenses and repatriation should travel arrangements have to be altered,
  • Medical expenses.

The Symposium Secretariat cannot take any responsibility for any participant failing to arrange their own insurance. This insurance is to be purchased in your country of origin.

*Student – To be able to register as graduate students, delegates must upload proof of full-time enrolment at a recognized university or college at both the time of registration and during ISWAVLD 2027. A copy of your student identification card must be sent to the Symposium Secretariat via email to corne@savetcon.co.za. Without this, the full registration fee will be charged.

+Accompany persons receive access to all symposium refreshments and lunches. They cannot attend any of the lectures.

World Bank Country and Lending Groups

For the current 2026 fiscal year, low-income economies are defined as those with a GNI per capita, calculated using the World Bank Atlas method, of $1,135 or less in 2024; lower middle-income economies are those with a GNI per capita between $1,136 and $4,495; upper middle-income economies are those with a GNI per capita between $4,496 and $13,935; high-income economies are those with more than a GNI per capita of $13,935.
